Community Engagement
Our latest project
High Street Asset Management (HSAM), sponsored a two-man mountain bike team who participated in the 2024 ABSA Cape Epic to raise funds for a cause close to our hearts.
Christopher Brits and Ryan Bennewith (Team HSAM) rode to raise funds for an education fund. It will sponsor the level I CFA examination fees of a worthy candidate from a disadvantaged background, on their way to becoming a qualified CFA Charterholder and eventually start an internship at HSAM.
The amount raised was R44000.

About our riders
Chris Brits and Ryan Bennewith are the riders for Team High Street Asset Management who took on the Absa Cape Epic in March 2024.
They are both from KZN and met while working at a rural hospital in the north of the province.
They lived in digs together in Mtunzini and spent much of their time riding through the sugar cane fields and hills of Zululand.
Together, they have done multiple Sani2C’s, Berg & Bush and also a Tankwa Trek. As Cape Epic newbies they are extremely excited and nervous about the grueling route that has been set for the 20th edition of the iconic African race. They are hoping their relative youth will make up for what they lack in experience.
Our High Street Asset Management Team is not completely devoid of experience though as we have 2 x Cape Epic finishers, Mike Patchitt and Tubby Roy, who will have invaluable advice come race day. They also have our coach, Robyn De Groot, a multiple National Champ and Cape Epic podium finisher, to get them into shape for the race.
Ultimately, it’s an exciting journey for the team and to have High Street’s charitable initiatives behind it makes all the suffering on the bike a worthwhile endeavour.
