The High Street Balanced Prescient Fund is suitable for retail and institutional investors seeking maximum offshore exposure, within the bounds of Regulation 28. It aims to deliver elevated returns by utilising its full offshore and equity allowances. The Fund is differentiated in the retirement category by focusing primarily on investments with international or Rand-hedge revenue streams. Ideally suited as a geographic diversifier for an investor’s local portfolio.

Risk Profile
Moderate to Aggressive Risk Profile. There is inherent risk associated with investing in publicly listed securities and while volatility is expected to be less than an equity-only fund, investors must be willing to endure periods of short-term downturns. As a result, an investment horizon of 5+ years is recommended.
Investor Suitability
The Fund caters for:
- Retirement annuities, provident and pension funds.
- Individuals planning to emigrate and aiming to maximise offshore exposure.
- Living annuities where the administrator has reduced offshore capacity.
- Money confined to within our borders (local Trusts, Corporates, Foundations, etc).
Offshore Exposure
Offshore exposure is defined as direct offshore exposure and local investments whose revenues are denominated in foreign currencies (“Rand-hedge” securities). Local retirement legislation permits investment up to 45% directly offshore which the Fund utilises to its full extent. For the remaining portion, the Fund actively invests in South African listed “Rand-hedge” securities, thereby increasing offshore exposure to over 90%.
Asset Allocation
The Fund is classified as a “High-Equity Fund”, meaning it will consistently have a large exposure to equity securities, capped at a maximum of 75%. Asset classes which make up the remainder of the allocation include, but are not limited to: listed real estate companies, bonds, warrants, preference shares, commodities and cash.
